During the Super Bowl when the guy from the Giants accidentally got a touchdown when he was trying not to (no, it didnt make sense to me either), DGB or Puck Daddy tweeted that Gomez would have known how not to score.

Don't worry he didn't score last night! He wasn't even given a chance in the shootout which went to 8 rounds!

Looking over his career he has only ever had one 20+ goal NHL season. It's both incredible and hilarious that he was deemed worthy of such a large contract.

I always feel Jason Blake is well overpriced but he's an absolute bargain compared to Gomez...

Goals and assists for forwards are the two big kpi's. And no one is worth 7.5 million p.a. on the career figures that Gomez had put up prior to that contract being signed - regardless of how many hits, blocked shots and face-off %...
