Abdelkader and Lapierre
So last night was a 4-3 SO win for Detroit against Vancouver. A great game, back and forth goals, and Luongo standing tall, keeping his team in it despite a 44-23 shot clock in favour of Detroit.
However, 2 fights emerged, one fairly even one between Ballard and Bertuzzi, and one between Abdelkader and Lapierre. This was the second of the season between these two guys, and in both it seems, Lapierre gets a spanking. In last night's fight, he at least lands a punch this time, but takes a few more than he gives, and ultimately stumbles after a hard punch to the side of the head.

My question is this: Do you think this is the kind of rivarly that has legs to carry on for a couple of seasons? Are we expecting these two guys to fight whenever they're paired up against eachother? And more importantly, is Lapierre going to get dropped every time?

My question is this: how tough is Abdelkader? Hitting a man while he's down? Not cool kid, not cool.

Boarding and diving happen in every game, it's part of the nature of competition. Punching a defenceless man isn't competing, it's being a douche.

How could it be sour grapes? We lost an incredible game in a shootout. I'm talking about rocker's take on the fight, and want to know how anyone could think that was an acceptable end to the fight. Abdelkader is a douche. He'd won the fight, but thought Lappy needed a few extra smashes just to make sure? Even Brad Marchsnd wouldn't stoop that low!

Watch the October one again. After recieving a full on pasting, Lapierre is against the boards and the officials come in to seperate. Abby has his hands held by the zebra, but Max punches him in the face anyway.
Don't give me the defenceless man argument, as Lapierre is just as guilty.
