The Boston Shamrocks have not lost a game since December 9th. Their win streak now stands at 16 games which is believed to be a 606 league record. Quite how the Shamrocks have turned their worst start to a season into the best run of possibly any team in the history of the league is unclear. They have navigated teams from various levels within the league getting past previous league leaders, division leaders, and 6 sets of back to back games. Nothing can stop the Shamrocks right now.

The turnaround began with the signing of Kyle Okposo and while he has helped improved the second line which was a major part of the Shamrocks early season woes. It's been spectacular play from the first line and for the first time an above average power play that has contributed to the historic streak. Their goal-tending also improved with Stephen Valiquette continuing the trend of projected backups surpassing star Ryan Miller to carry the team in times of need. That's not to say that Miller has been poor the veteran duo have split games exactly each playing 16. If they were eligible for the league leader board they would sit within the top 4 goalies in the league.

The Shamrocks had an incredible pre-season with Stephen Weiss and Mark Streit among the league leaders in points. Perhaps that is why it is surprising that the team struggle so much at the start of the season. It took some time for the team's two best players to get going but they have regained their rightful place amongst the league's elite. Mark Streit leads defensemen in points and the league in assists. Weiss has returned to his usual goalscoring form and leads all centers in points good for 3rd in the league overall. Perhaps the most surprising player is veteran Jason Arnott while he has been "demoted" to the 3rd line that seems to have increased his production he's 3rd in the team in points. However it's not only the old timers getting the job done the Shamrocks made a point of giving the roster a more youthful look in the off-season and Tyler Seguin, Erik Johnson and newcomers Kyle Okposo and Andrej Sekera adding the depth scoring that hadn't existed in the past.

The streak will eventually end but right now the Shamrocks sit atop the league with two elite goalies, best D-man, best defence and the leagues best center. While these accolades may be temporary the Shamrocks have shown that their poor start is well behind them and they appear well set to be involved in the race for the King's cup for the 3rd year in a row.
