As most of you will remember, I was a little suprised - no.... upset, when The Blues replaced Davis Payne with Ken Hitchcock.

Well, I now have to admit - I was wrong.

Since that day, November the 7th to be precise, The Blues haven't looked back. We have gone from a team fighting with the Ducks for the wooden spoon, to a team fighting with the Hawks, Wings and Wild...(did I just type 'Wild' Shocked ) for the Western Conference lead.

In those 11 games, we are an amazing 8-1-2. We have shut out the Hawks, Lightning and Flames, as well as won away in Pittsburgh and Washington. Also, in those 11 games games we have only conceded 13 goals. Brian
Elliott has a won 10 of the 11 games he has started. He leads the league in save pecentage (.951) and Goals Against Average (1.31). He also sits second in shutouts with 3. The much maligned Halak(and yes, by me) has also upped his game considerably, going from 3-7-2 and a GAA of 2.57 to a figure of 3-1-2 at 1.56 for his last six.

Further up the ice things are improving to. Backes and Oshie are now beginning to hit their straps, whilst Steen and D'agostini are showing their real potential. Defensively things are a much improved, this has allowed the 'crash defense' to be scrapped, giving Pietroangelo and Shattenkirk the opportunity to show their real hockey ability. This has lead to the former scoring the game winning goals in Pittsburgh(from within the opponents goal crease) and Columbus (6ft out, right in the slot).

Whilst this improvement is great, it is now time to move up another gear. Five of our next six are at home, in which we again play the Hawks and Wings along with the Sharks. Win five of those six and I think it will be play-offs here we come.

LETS GO BLUES!!!!! cheers

No where's that humble pie....I hope they have some real/proper vanilla ice-cream to go with it.

That is quite the turn around. Just shows how much of an influence a change of coach can have and Hitch is a great coach.

I think the Caps fans are hoping for a bit of the same, change of coach and Ovi getting fired up.

Amazing change of fortunes and just shows what a positive effect a coach can have on a team. (You hearing me, Ron?!!)

The Flames went on a great run last season after sacking Sutter as GM. Hopefully we will sack the other Sutter this year and go on another run. Then we can sign some more sutters over the summer so that we can sack them periodicly throughout the season. Thats how you win the cup!

Congrats to the Blues though, if they keep this up i might stop getting them confused with the Blue Jackets...
