I imagine if you had left them to it, someone would have started a picnic.

It looked like an EA game where both players have left the room to grab a cuppa...

You mean the PS3 version doesn't have pause? I know they cut corners with the PS3 but that takes the biscuit

That would be awesome , Chris Pronger offering Danny Briere a pork pie and Claude Giroux getting his Orange Squash out

lol! Hey, EA didn't even release a working program for NHL12 - a pause button is a luxury!
I'll rephrase then...it reminds me of the time I was beating someone on-line when they decided to stop playing but not actually quit - leaving me to simply put down the controller and watch the clock run down becuase I wasn't going to bloody well be the one to exit first and take the loss.

Careful or Wellwood might get jealous.

Good on Philly. 1-3-1 is the hallmark of poor coaching and poor sportsmanship. If I was Stevie Y I'd shake my franchise down.

I disagree. It is a style of play the Lightning chose to employ and it is down to the Flyers to try and break that down.
I find it funny that in a team game it can be considered unsporting to play a solid team defence.

Agreed. However a team choose to play is their remit. As long as it's legal of course.

I saw a interesting suggestion on the puck daddy comments for removing / relaxing icing rules if a system like this is applied. They didnt suggest anything but something like;
If no player is in your zone it wont be icing would solve this to an extent, I don't have a problem with the 1-3-1 per se but not even sending one forchecker to the the inside edge of their zone is a bit pathetic.

That's the bit that I didn't like, at least have the one forward try and chase it down. Both teams are guilty of making this into a bit of a farce in my opinion. I could agree to something that would discourage what happened last night as funny as it was but not anything that tries to outlaw the trap itself which would be extremely tough to enforce. I saw another suggestion that if something like that happens again to give both teams a delay of game penalty. Seems like a fair argument to me.
