This made ME smile...part 2
After the Chicago game 'The Hitch' gave his first post match press conference as a Blue. Most of it was the normal bog standard fare, until he was asked one particular question:
Rep: So Ken, can you tell us why you chose Chris Stewart and Patrik Berglund for the Penalty Kill?
Hitch: You mean they dont play on the PK?. They looked like they could check, so I told them to get out on the ice and do it..
Also, congratulations to Doug Armstrong. Appreciating a lot of the good work done by Davis Payne by giving he a role in the scouting network. Class move Doug

Sigh. Happy days.
Hockey's a bit like speedway isn't it? Get in the lead and you're overwhelmingly likely to emerge as winner. Ducks are 5-0-2 when they score first and 0-7-1 when the opposition do. I just want the team to come out and actually put some bloody effort in for the first 5 minutes....

They pointed out an interesting stat during the Stars-Caps game the other night after we scored the first goal.
Stars were 6-1-0 when scoring first while Caps were 6-1-0 when the opposition scored first. Made you wonder who might come out on top lol.

Wow, the Caps are bucking the trend there aren't they? The Ducks managed to blow a 3-0 lead against them.
During the Ducks Stars game I heard a staggering stat regarding the outcome of games when Stars lead going into the 3rd period. I can't remember exactly but they were like 44-1-2 or something?! Does that sound right? In any case playing in the lead generally makes all the difference.

I don't know the exact number but that wouldn't surprise me. A few of last seasons break downs aside the Stars tend to be fairly solid at shutting down periods. We tried our best at disproving that last season against the Blues. We swept them and all 4 games they were leading going into the 3rd
