Puck out indefinitely after taking a Laperriere to the face

Great article! But no mention of Hnidy (or it could have been Recchi) having kidney stones removed immediately after a playoff game and then suiting up for the next game?
And having had a root canal last year, I am in total awe of St Louis.

I think these are random selections tbh, there are a few stories they missed out. Just further goes to show how many examples of this there are in hockey!
I remember Robidas season before last where he had a broken nose and wore the cage most of the season. When it was sorted he put his normal visor back on, took a puck to the visor which in turn broke his nose again. He just went to the dressing room, shoved cotton wool up his nose, put his cage back on and came right back out.
Most other sports don't know the meaning of 'warrior'

Eric Belanger season before last pulling two of his own teeth out on the bench and just carrying on is one of my personal favourites

Awesome! How did I miss that lol.
That reminds me a bit of Barch as well losing 8 teeth after a high stick from Chelios a few years back. Best bit was him coming back to the bench with a massive smile on his face (mouth still full of blood) and going to Tippett "I think I lost a few". He was also still well prepared to fight Downey in that game!

Oh yes there's some great stories out there. Wasnt it an Islanders player a couple of seasons ago who was knocked down by a car, but still played that night (got moved down a line to make it a little bit easier for him).
Or the Oilers player who was injured in the first period. They checked him out and decided to take him to hospital. He got patched up, put in an ambulance, taken back to the rink and came out and played in the third.
And people wonder why I got fed up with the prima donnas in the Prem

I remember watching the Belanger incident and sending an "ewwww, gross" email to my mates in the UK.
Was it Joe Thornton who took a stick to the face and thought he was OK until he took his mouthguard out and half a dozen of his teeth came out with it?

On a similar but not entirely the same note, I remember watching Lee Pow being on the bench for the MK Kings suffering a broken arm. When some fella from Basingstoke (I believe Kevin Conway) started a bit of the rough stuff with Paddy Scott (classy centre, not your fighting type), good old Lee jumped up from bench walked/slid across the ice (in his suit) and then proceeded to deal out some whoop ass upon said Conway. The first punch came courtesy of his right hand, coincidentally on the end of his broken right arm.
