They should have an update putting all injured players back in now....I'm sure I read that last week.

I was on-line the other day and played with the Penguins - Crosby was definitely there!

Re: Summer Signings
David Poile has just guaranteed he won't get another GM of the Year nomination as long as he lives - he trades top blue chip prospect Cody Franson and potential 1st line centre Matt Lombardi for BRETT LEBDA and some unknown ECHL forward.
What the fuck Poile?

Re: Summer Signings
Nice trade Burkie!!
This does not bode well for Bozak re-signing with Connolly, Grabovksi and Lombardi pencilled in the top 3 centremen slots.
Franson is another d men who can slot in with the young and able on our blue line (Aulie, Schenn, Gunnarsson are all under 24)
Lebda didn't work here and Bob Slainey isn't even on my radar (I normally like to keep up to date with the Marlies and Royals) so no loss whatsoever .
I think this actually might lead to another trade as we have a lot of similar players competing for roster slots now.

Re: Summer Signings
On holiday but managed to find internet access and possibly freaked out some people on the computers around me by shouting YES! and pumping my fist a few times.
Best signing in the NHL by McPhee...although actually Vokoun according to the Washington Post called the Caps after no offers on day 1 and offered them the deal. Lucky, lucky us. Still need to sign Alzner and Brouwer, but now have a fantastic roster all round with great mix of experience and youth, physicality and skill etc. i reckon there will be a trade for cap space, probably fehr or maybe schultz.
Ward signing was a bit dissappointing for me - good player but overpaid. But Vokoun contract more than makes up for it. What a deal.

Re: Summer Signings
I'm happy with the Wings dealings. We got rid of Meech to Winnipeg and resigned Eaves, Miller and Ericsson. Then we added Commodore and White from CBJ and SJS respectively. After Rafalski's retirement, to add White is a decent bit of business, and Commodore can only bring decent strength to an already powerful D selection.
Lidstrom - Kronwall
White - Stuart
Ericsson - Commodore
Kindl/Salei
I would like to see a forward added for 3rd/4th line position, as I just don't think Modano has it in him.

Kaberle signs in Carolina. That noise you hear is CJ cheering.

Re: Summer Signings
The cheering is rather muted as Kabs has walked out of the door and Toronto have got Joe Colborne and two picks. Not one of Chia's best trades, and thank god we won the cup, otherwise there would have been hell to pay.

Cheechoo signs with STL. 1 year deal. I like him, so I hope he can regain some of his past form.

Mmmmmm. I'm really not sure. Having taken Langenbrunner, Arnott and Huskins, is Cheechoo a step too far

Getting a dude of potentially his class for 600k is surely not a huge risk?

Re: Summer Signings
Many on the Blues board think he is Peoria bound for the duration. The Rivermen had a great season and they think Cheechoo could help bring home The Calder Cup. They think his Blues appearances will be few and far between.

Re: Summer Signings
Cheechoo is well well well beyond his days as a scorer. When he tried out for us you could tell he is not the same player after his surgery and without Jumbo Joe setting him up he will never return to his 50+ goal day. I like him and hope he can do well but if hes like he was at camp last year he was given a bigger chance than most to make our under equipped team and still failed to impress.
Re: Summer Signings
I think that to be honest we should pick up Jarkko Ruutu again, we can get him on the cheap and he can give us a little bit of grit that we are missing.

Also he's a Finn eh? I like Jarkko he has a lot of fire in him.
We signed Godard for 2 years, very happy with that as he always seemed like a real team guy in Pittsburgh and we need players like that.
