Winter Classic

Just read that next year's Winter Classic will be held at the Philadelphia Phillies baseball park between the Flyers and the Rangers. First fight to take place six seconds after puck drop after Avery shoves Boucher/Bob/Leighton/traffic cone* and Hartnell goes for him.


* whichever one of these is in goal next year.

Yawn... Philly again.

Yawn...no Canadian teams again.

Yawn...two boring teams again.

Yawn...massive hype over the worst regular season game of the season.

I applaud the idea of the 'Classic', but abhor the way they go about promoting it, selecting the teams, covering it, and just generally everything to do with it. It's a crap advert for the game too, which isn't what the league needs.

Though Bettman clearly feels non-NHL fans will be drawn into watching the league having seen Pronger, Avery and Carcillo
