Definitely think they are overkilling it, although does this mean we get more HBO 24/7 on hockey??

It does seem like they are trying to make up for lost revenue due to the lockout

I saw a rumour that they're hoping to eventually have every team play one per season. They'll make pairs up and have them alternate who hosts the outdoor game. Like, Philly-NJ, NYR-NYI, etc.

I heard they are thinking of changing the dimensions of the rink to resemble the shapes of ponds.

I heard they were gonna string up Bettman like a piƱata over centre ice of every outdoor game so that players could take swings at him and the team that gets the most hits in wins the game.

Grantland's take. I love it.

The NHL is that one friend who got a cool tattoo on his arm, everyone complimented him, and then he showed up at the next party with tats all over his face.

give it a few years and we will all be watching roller hockey down in LA. Looking forward to the indoor classic between the two new Mexican expansion teams.

Bettman sitting on his thone made from the remains of the hockey greats of the past.
