Jarome Is-gone-la?
So the Flames suck and will not make the playoffs this season. With Iggy in the last year of his contract, everyone is expecting him to go to a contender at the deadline before resigning with the Flames in the summer.
So where do you think he will go, and would you want him on your team?
It's looking like Boston or Chicago to me. Wherever he ends up I'm going to have to support that team in the playoffs. Interestingly the Jets had scouts at our last game, they are in with a chance at making the playoffs and he would fit nicely into their team. Kane is basically Iggy jr so that would be a fun line to watch. Unfortunately there not serious contenders so that isn't going to happen.

He has apparently already submitted a four team shortlist. I cant remember for the life of me who they were but i think it was Pittsburgh, Boston, LA and Chicago

Yeah that's the four teams. The Penguins seem to have made their moves now so I'm ruling them out, and I think LA would be a bad choice.

Every year it's "Flames to trade Iginla" and it sill hasn't happened.

Knowing the Flames management, I don't doubt there sitting there trying to add players for a cup run. If it wasn't for the list of teams Iggy submitted I wouldn't belaying any attention to all this. If he's still a Flame after the deadline I wouldn't be surprised.

I don't know an NHL fan who wouldn't want Iginla. Unfortunately he's given a list of teams that probably don't need him, and may be unlikely to actually trade for him.

I wouldn't want him.... he has a habit of fighting all our rookies so I don't think that would go down too well being team mates
Re: Jarome Is-gone-la?
According to all the pundits on Twitter, it looks as if the Bruins are favourites to land him.
Not too sure what I think about this. Yes, he's a great player and would be an excellent addition to any team, but he's 37 FFS, and I think a combination of picks, Peverley, Horton, and Subban is waaay too much to be asking for what could essentially be a rental. On the other hand, he'd look bloody amazing wearing the spoked B.

Jesus I hope that is wide of the mark. (A healthy) Horton alone would make me gulp!

Beef and Jonzee don't have to worry, he's only going to go to a contender
In all honesty, I would be happy to let him go for nothing if it gives him a cup. I do think most Flames fans are over valuing him, and any return is a fine with me.

Re: Jarome Is-gone-la?
It looks as if they're asking for a first round pick, a couple of prospects, and maybe a current player.
Bleacher Report has come up with the following suggestions, and as much as I like Jarome Arthur-Leigh Adekunle Tig Junior Elvis Iginla, I think they are all way too high.
Offer #1 Ryan Spooner, Torey Krug, Rich Peverley, 2013 1st Round
Offer #2 Ryan Spooner, Torey Krug, 2013 1st Round
Offer #3 Alexander Khokhlachev, Anthony Camara, Rich Peverley, 2013 1st Round
Offer #4 Alexander Khokhlachev, Torey Krug, Jordan Caron, 2013 1st Round
Offer #5 Malcom Subban, Torey Krug, Rich Peverley, 2013 1st Round
There are also rumours that the Bruins are interested in Martin St Louis, which I would love see, purely for the comedy value of seeing Chara give him a hug after he scores a goal.

If any GM pays what Calgary want for him, they should instantly resign and move to Toronto.

No news on what the deal is yet though.

Re: Jarome Is-gone-la?
A 2013 1st and two college prospects.
Very much mixed feelings about this. It's gonna be weird to see 12 wearing any other jersey, but it needed to happen. Don't want him to sign with us in the Summer either. Flames need to move on and go into full rebuild, especially with the rumours that Kipper could be done at the end of this year too.
Hope the Pens win it all now.
Good luck Jarome.

What the FUDGE!!! I go to bed last night with all signs pointing towards him going to Boston! Well I cant say that I'm disappointed as we haven't given up any of our "blue chip" prospects. The draft isn't meant to be that deep so I am not too fussed about the 30th overall pick

Re: Jarome Is-gone-la?
I think its a fair return. Iggy will be back in Calgary next year (hopefully on a cheap deal) If one of the three players we end up with turns into a decent NHL player we would have done very well out of this.
Kipper looks certain to retire at the end of the season. Joey Mac has proved that it is possible for someone other then Kipper to win a game for the Flames, so im hoping we resign him for another year. I only wish Kipper hadn't ruined his trade value by saying he wouldn't report to another team.

I can't understand why he didn't go to Toronto. Everyone wants to play in Toronto.

Anyone following Chiarelli's press conference? Looks like he thought he'd got the Iginla deal all sewn up.

Roger Millions who reports on Flames has tweeted that Jay Bouwmeester and Flames have been talking trade possibilities, with as many as 6 teams interested.

He's done just about enough this season to show he can still produce points. We should get a decent return for him. I can't see that happening untill the summer though.
Cammy and Tanguay need to go too!
