2012 Stanley Cup Final Predictions

I can't believe how teams just stuttered and fell apart in the post-season. The Wings and Canucks were both poor, considering they had decent regular seasons, and even the Blues, who entered the playoffs looking like a solid team, made it one round before buckling.

Basically this year was going to be a game of attrition to see which team could avoid bottling it. Currently, it's LA. Even the Devils fought hard and fought well to make it this far, beating the Rangers in the last round was a tough call, but now in the final, they're choking really badly.

The Wings aside, mainly because they haven't played the Kings - in the play-offs, I don't think its has anything to do with the Nucks, Blues, Yotes or Devils choking. The Kings have just completely out played them all.

They currently stand 15-2 in the play-offs, and have yet to lose on the road. A sweep in the final may not be ideal for the purist, but it is no more than the Kings deserve.

I said LA in 6 so despite my strong dislike for NJ I'm kind of glad they've got at least one win.

Because of working earlies game 5 will be the first game I've seen live since the Predators got knocked out.

The trophy is returned to Toronto for safe keeping until Saturday night so technically we are the Stanley Cup holders for the next three days

Thanks to the whole no tuching the cup untill you win it superstition, Toronto is the safest place for it...
