Couldn't agree more, Azzy.
Sat and watched last night, ready for a good laugh. Pleasantly suprised by the quality of songs and totty on display .
Even more amazed by the transformation of the Dortmund stadium...and only in 6weeks!!!!.
Begrudgingly, you have to hand it to the krouts. We couldn't have managed that over here!!!!

I had amazing fun playing the guess the points game, and getting overly aggressive with it in anticipation of the hockey. Unfortunately the eurovision was the highlight of my night >.>

Re: Eurovision Song Contest
It beggars belief why they didn't use the Esprit Arena for the World Cup. I enjoy the Eurovision with my friends every year but this year I was on call and so had to go without the party (and drink!) and yet somehow still enjoyed it !!
My 3 favourites, in no particular order, were...
Serbia
Estonia
Romania
And of course Moldova!

Re: Eurovision Song Contest
We had drinking a drinking game where during the points we each picked 2 countries out of a hat and we had to drink 1 finger of drink for points 1-7, 2 fingers for 8 points, 3 fingers for 10 points and a shot for 12.
I had Serbia and Austria I think..... we introduced a new rule cos mine weren't scoring that if they didn't score for 2 round you had a shot..... we went through quite a lot!
Best bit was my friend had Germany last year for the same type of game and managed to pick Azerbaijan this year! Next year I think we should pick the countries early and I will go put money on her Countries lol

That's similar to the game we play only at the end if your team finishes 3rd overall you have to do a dirty half pint, 2nd a dirty pint and if you are unfortunate enough to win then there is a dirty yard in it for you!
But everyone tends to drink all the way through anyway; the points system is just the extra kick of doing a shot of sambuca (or whatever) on top of your usual!
This talk is making me miss eurovision party time

Damn, I'd forgotten just how much fun Eurovision parties were. I had a text from a friend with a youtube link to the Moldovon entry. Loved those pointy hat things.
Actually, I think I'd rather have been watching Eurovision than the hockey.

If you know your geography you'll find guessing the points rather easy - most of the time countries simply vote for their neighbour. Given the terrible suffering the likes of say Serbia and Bosnia have inflicted on each other in the past it's all rather bizarre really. Eurovision definitely lives in a bubble.
