Jack Jablonski

I am sure many of you, if not all of you, have heard of what happened to this poor kid by now but in case you hadn't here is the short version.

Jack Jablonski is a 16 year old high school hockey player who on the 30th Dec was accidentally hit from behind into the boards which severely damaged his spinal cord. The doctors said he is unlikely to ever walk again.

The story exploded via social media sites such as Twitter and the hockey community as a whole has responded amazingly to it sending waves of support to Jack and his family. The Wild had a little ceremony for him prior to a game, the Sharks are at least one of the teams that has gone to visit him in hospital and even the great one made a phone call to him sending his support.

The last word from the hospital was that against all odds, Jack was able to move his arms. His recovery is obviously a long and uncertain one but this was amazing news that was against what the doctors had said.

Also this story came up from a fund raiser event where a 'chuck the puck' event was won by the kid who made the hit using the one puck that had Jablonski's number on it. The money raised has gone to support his family.

Further proof the hockey community is a great one Smile
