When i log in though, it asks me to register again... I have had to email support, so hopefully it will be fixed. I was hoping to watch a classic game or two tonight
If it doesn't, fancy having a bash on NHL 12 tonight instead?

WOO!
Got it working now I was unable to find all the historic games on the site, but i found a link using google which worked.
Also found out that some pre season games are being shown, thier apparently broadcasting a selection of games so they can test the streams. Looks like their showing Detroit vs Chicago tomorrow

Yes, Registration for GameCenter Live in Europe and the Middle East is now available. The FAQ will be updated soon. We appreciate your patience in this matter.

Awesome that this is available but can anyone decipher the blackout rules? Being from Europe will get access to everything we want or will some games still be restricted :S ?

Surely as we're obviously not going to be able to go to the games in person they won't have any need for blackouts? Blackouts are done when a game isn't a sell out and they'd rather people fill the stadium than watch at home, right?

Re: NHL Gamecenter
I spose that will come up when they update the FAQ but with the ESPN player I had access to every game wouldn't want to shell out more money for less games.

Re: NHL Gamecenter
I thought blackouts were if the game was being shown by a local broadcaster, then it would be unavailable in the local area.
Which should mean that as its impossible to get hockey over here, there shouldnt be any blackouts

Re: NHL Gamecenter
Indeed blackouts are in areas where a local broadcaster is covering the game. This is to stop the NHL from basically competing with their own TV deals.
The question for blackouts in Europe will revolve around any TV deals they do here. For example when ESPN had coverage, if they were showing team A play team B on any night then that game would be blacked out of the center ice package as it is being shown 'locally'. I think it is bull crap if they do this personally but I wouldn't be surprised if they did.

Re: NHL Gamecenter
Ahh, right. I've learnt something there. According to Wiki, NHL blackouts don't have anything to do with attendance - that's just the NFL.
Hopefully the Gamecentre will have the same amount of coverage as ESPN. I only recall having one game unavailable to me before which was when the Ducks played in Florida against the Panthers. I think that was because the local network had the rights to the game which essentially backs up what you guys have just said.

Re: NHL Gamecenter
Was watching the Jets - Canes game yesterday. Verry happy with the video and sound quality. It actually looks better on my tv then ESPN america did.
Does anyone know, if the replay of the games are stored somewhere on the site which doesn't have all the scores at the top of the screen? Its really going to ruin it if i have to see the score before i click onto the video Surely there is at least an option to hide scores or something?

If you look at the right of the scores bar, it says scores on/off!
loving the quality although the commercial break music is going to get annoying really quickly!!!

Re: NHL Gamecenter
If its anything like ESPN which it appears to be, it will be normal commercials for home market stuff. There were some games that had the no commericals on espn previously which i assume were nationally televised ones.

I'm not impressed either. Has it been confirmed that GCL will be cancelled yet?

I think that GCL has been released as a replacement for the old ESPN 360 player. I dont see them cancelling it.

Re: NHL Gamecenter
I hope not. And I am watching it now so they haven't yet.
I was under the impression it was released because there was no tv deal.
When a tv deal was struck in the Nordic regions they shut down GCL in that area because of it.

Re: NHL Gamecenter
So is Gamecentre still going strong, yes? I haven't sorted anything out yet but I'm starting to get itchy feet and want to resume watching hockey. And is it like ESPN 360 in that I can watch on demand the following day or two?

Re: NHL Gamecenter
Still working ronnie. I can't see it getting pulled after people have already paid for the service, and from what of seen of this sky channel, they have only shown two games in the last week, so wouldn't recomend that.
All games are on demand straight away from what i can tell. I actually prefer it to ESPN 360. The only issue i have had was the Flames - Leafs game the other day was 4 hours long. I was expecting a record braking shoot out, but instead it had a 20 minute pause half way throught the 3rd and two hours of crappy music at the end.

Cheers, Iggy.
I was wondering if anyone has ever used NHL Vault?
https://gamecenter.nhl.com/nhlgc/secure/vaultsignup?intcmpid=nhl.com:vlt:vdsbnv
You can't watch live games but as I follow a Californian team that isn't a problem in any way. A lot cheaper than GCL too...

Re: NHL Gamecenter
Reading the HF Boards they can come up pretty quickly. If you're in Europe and you go to work the day of the game it'll be available when you come home! At $4.95 per month it's a lot cheaper option although I appreciate many of the guys on this forum are night owls who watch live!
